Feliz Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated to honor our connections with Mexico much as St. Patrick's Day honors our Irish roots and Mardi Gras reminds us of our ties to France. The US is a nation of celebrations with at least one for every month and season. Each honors our marvelous, vibrant and enriching multi-cultural backgrounds. Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Californians, especially us natives, LOVE Mexican food.. Most of us are "part-Mexican" even if it’s solely from all the Tacos, Enchiladas, Carnitas, Nachos, Quesadillas, Taquitos, Flautas, Burritos, Fajitas, Tortas, Tostadas, Rice, Beans, Salza, Guacamole & Chips we’ve consumed along with our Margaritas, Coronas and those morning Tequila Sunrises!

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and our Mexican-connection everyday and twice on weekends at our wonderful local DHS restaurants:

Beautiful stained glass, comfortable dining and bar plus Deep Fried Cheesecake for desert? Yes! Thank you Casa Blanca Restaurant!

Find the cow on Palm Drive and you’ve found El Mantador — great restaurant and cantina with a walk-up window for those hurry-up-and-go orders!

Happy Hour Specials, Menudo on the weekends plus daily specials and a Sunday Buffet -- All great reasons to feast at Las Palmas Mexican Cusine.

Get your sombrero on! Enjoy a Free Birthday Dinner compliments of South of the Border restaurant.

Be sure to try the tastes of Zapopan Mexican Food next-door to Starbucks on Palm Drive.

But who is serving my all-time favorites: Mole and Tamales, especially sweet corn tamales?Mole sauce is pretty wonderful on just about anything… YUM!

Do we have to wait until the December Indio International Tamale Festival to find Mole and tamales? Let us know.
